Here's a good example of what we mean when we say a garage door should work just as hard as it looks. The original door was worn - showing its age with surface staining, sagging hardware, and decorative strap hinges that were more cosmetic than functional. It had seen better days.
We pulled it out and installed a steel-backed insulated door in its place. The difference isn't just cosmetic. Steel-backed construction means the panels resist denting and warping far better than a standard door. Add insulation into the mix and you're also cutting down on heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer - which matters more than most people realize when your garage is attached to your home.
The finished result sits flush and clean against the opening. No decorative hardware, no visible gaps, no misalignment. Just a solid, well-fitted door that does its job. That cleaner look also ends up complementing the stucco and brick exterior a lot more than the old door ever did.
A lot of homeowners put off garage door replacement because they're not sure if it's worth it. But when your door is struggling - whether it's loud, slow, visibly beat up, or just not sealing properly - it's usually costing you more to keep it than to replace it. A proper garage door installation done right the first time means fewer headaches down the road.
